Role of the Reviewer
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts on their intellectual merit, methodological soundness, originality, and contribution to the field. Reviews should be objective, constructive, and completed within the agreed timeframe.
Review Criteria
Originality
Does the work make a novel contribution to creative arts scholarship?
Significance
Is the work important and relevant to the journal's readership?
Methodology
Are the research methods, analysis, and argumentation sound?
Presentation
Is the work well structured, clear, and effectively illustrated?
References
Are sources current, relevant, and properly cited?
Ethics
Are ethical standards and disclosure requirements met?
Writing an Effective Review
- ✓Begin with a brief summary of the manuscript and its contribution.
- ✓Structure feedback by major and minor points, with specific references.
- ✓Be constructive, respectful, and focused on the work, not the author.
- ✓Provide clear, actionable recommendations to the editor.
Confidentiality & Timeliness
Manuscripts under review are confidential documents. You must not discuss or share them with anyone, nor use the ideas or data for your own work. If you cannot accept an invitation or complete the review within the requested timeframe, please decline promptly or notify the editorial office. Any potential conflict of interest must be declared to the editor immediately.
